Lawrence young Foundation is a non-profit organisation operating in Uganda especially in  Remote areas like Katwe-Kasese Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the year 2018, Keith and Linda Lawrence the Directors of Lawrence Young Limited located in Basingstoke Hampshire UK started the Lawrence Young foundation in Uganda to help those vulnerable remote children in the Park and in 2020 it was registered by the government of Uganda as a non-profit organisation.

The Foundation was formed by Keith and Linda Lawrence the Directors of Lawrence Young Limited an accounting and Business advisory firm located in Basingstoke Hampshire UK.  Keith and Linda always had a passion for helping the needy in Africa. When Mahadi Ntanda a former Employee of Lawrence Young Limited visited Queen Elizabeth National Park, he spotted on his way little children at a remote school in the park struggling to go to the Toilet because they had little facilities,  he later informed His former Boss about the Conditions he saw affecting the little children. Keith and Linda acted immediately and constructed two new Toilet Blocks for the little children. They went on to help more with school requirements like books, pens, pencils, sports materials like football and many others. They later decided to open up a community based organisation in Uganda to help those vulnerable remote children in the park.

It started with few children from remote families in Katwe village- Queen Elizabeth National park in Kasese district. Later other villages and communities with in the national park joined like, kayanja, katungulu, kasenyi, kikorongo, Hamukungu, kahendero, Omuruti, Nyakatonzi, Katojo and Rwehingo and the Foundation was transformed into a National Charity for the Children from all over Queen Elizabeth National park and country at Large.

In the remote Queen Elizabeth National Park like any other areas of the country, there is a growing number of disadvantaged children, Children with learning disabilities, Orphans and homeless children as a result of HIV/AIDS, superstition beliefs that causes neglect in the communities for example in 2009 the number in the whole country reached 2.6 million.

Katwe village and other villages are surrounded by wild animals, it was discovered that some parents are being killed by crocodiles while fishing yet it’s their main income generating activity leaving the children as orphans, single parent and child headed where they cannot afford to go to school because they are poor.

  KEITH LAWRENCE

CEO AND DIRECTOR LAWRENCE YOUNG LIMITED UK AND THE FOUNDER LAWRENCE YOUNG FOUNDATION

Keith Lawrence was born in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. He is the Business owners and Directors of Lawrence Young Limited. Keith has helped many businesses and Business owners to be clear on their nosiness and personal goals, and help them develop and improve their business to achieve these goals. He does this by helping you to work ON your Business rather than just IN it. The over-riding aims should be to help you put more profits in your pocket and to increase the saleable value of your business.

He started his first career in the Pharmaceutical Industry, learning many aspects of business (internal control, business planning. financial & reporting, people management, etc) and qualified in 1983 as a Chartered Management Accountant (www.cimaglobal.com) ending up as Head of Finance. In 1986 he hopped Industry to Data Communications where he was involved in setting up a new company (Plessey Telecom Limited) which we subsequently sold to the Telecoms giant, Alcatel – where we grew the company to £125 million turnover. During this time, he developed his strategy skills, becoming a strategy-qualified Fellow of the institute in 1993 subsequently becoming Finance Director, then Director of Management Control.

With Corporate Growth experience, He then moved into Consulting for a few years, helping large companies become larger! However, after a while he got fed up with earning extra profits for large companies and anonymous shareholders, so in 2002 he set up Lawrence Young (named after his 2 grandfathers 😊) to use his skills to help small businesses grow – and working closely with the owner managers to add extra profits to their businesses. It’s more fun and more motivating, and this is where you find him today…

Keith has significant experience of working across a wide range of industries, including start-ups, helping them to develop their market offering, their business effectiveness and their bottom-line results. In addition, he has previously impacted dramatic bottom-line improvement in larger companies (£100m-£500m turnover), in both consultancy and line management roles. Previous experience includes having held directorship in multinational Telecoms businesses and being Chief Financial Officer for Global Crossing`s UK-Based undersea Internet Cable laying division.

In addition to advertising and assisting with company structure, accounting and tax, Keith works closely with Business owners and managers to develop their pricing and profit models.
